Open Scene with JEWEL who lies on the hospital bed

JEWEL

Come here son, it's been twenty-nine years since last I held you in my arms.

Clint is moved to tears as they embrace.

JEWEL

You look just like your father. I knew you were my son when I saw those pictures. You look so much like him.

She tells him that she had him until he was three. She tells him about when he was two bringing Clint to the hospital thinking he was going to OD after he had swallowed a whole bottle of vitamins. Clint pulls a chair next to her and asks about his dad.

"Was Wayne still around?"

JEWEL (CONT'D)

No, he was in prison. He'd killed a general's son.

Clint is intrigued.

JEWEL

In fact, it was there where you were conceived Clint, during a conjugal visit. I always said it was such a Twist of Fate that one year later to the very day that boy was shot and killed, you were born.

YOUNG WAYNE

It is 1965 and we are introduced to Clint's father WAYNE, a soldier with a quick temper and a violent streak as he gets into fights constantly. He ends up as the manager of a strip club.

STRIP CLUB

Loud music plays at Wayne's strip club as rugged trucker-types line the stage, yelping at the dancers. Off in a corner, a patron gets too rowdy with one of the dancers and a bouncer is about to intervene when Wayne stops him. He is been itching for some action.

OBJECT OF DESIRE

Wayne beats the patron senseless and only stops when he catches the glimpse of a stunning woman who just walked in: YOUNG JEWEL.

THE RIGHT MAN

Wayne quickly approaches young Jewel and introduces himself as the owner.

"I found the right man," Jewel responds

WAYNE (smiling)

I get that all the time. What can I do to you?

JEWEL (smiling)

Clever...I want to dance. Do you think I have the looks to thrill, cowboy?

WAYNE

Why don't you get your pretty little butt backstage, next song's yours. Do you have any requests?

QUITE THE NUMBER

Jewel struts out onto the stage with a cowboy hat over her breasts.

JEWEL

Is there a cowboy in the house?

Every man in the club answers yes, whistling and hollering.

PRECIOUS JEWEL RECORDED BY CLINT CRISHER plays as Jewel tosses the hat to a smiling patron by the stage, revealing her perfect breasts. Jewel's moves amaze the patrons who throw loads of bills at her.

HER NAME WAS PRECIOUS JEWEL
SHE WAS THE MOTHER I NEVER KNEW
I GOT LUCKY WHEN I MET HER AT 32
SHE WAS A DANCER IN VEGAS
THE BEST THEY'D EVER SEEN
SHE KNEW HOW TO WORK THE FLOOR
LIKE NO ONE HAD EVER DONE BEFORE
SHE SHOOK HER BODY STRONG
RAISING HER LEGS UP LONG
HANGING FROM THE POLES
STARTING FROM HER TOES
GYRATING UP AND DOWN
THAT WAS PRECIOUS JEWEL
THE MOTHER I NEVER KNEW

WORKING THE POLE FOR A DOLLAR A SHOW
OLD MEN LEERING YOUNG BOYS CHEERING
SHE WAS ON FIRE, EVERY MAN'S DESIRE
FILLING THE CLUB EVERY NIGHT
SHE WAS DYNAMITE

JEWEL WAS JUST STRIPPING
MAKING A PRECIOUS LIVING
WORKING LONG HOURS
TURNING MEN ON
TOUCHING HERSELF
SONG BY SONG SELLING HER BODY
ALL NIGHT LONG MOM ALWAYS KNEW
THE SHOW MUST GO ON
THAT WAS PRECIOUS JEWEL
THE MOTHER I NEVER KNEW

USING HER BODY TO FLEX
BEND SHOWING OFF HER SEXY HOT MOVES
AND HER ELECTRIC ATTITUDE
SHE DID THINGS THAT MADE MEN LOOSE THEIR MINDS
HER PANTIES WERE WET WHEN SHE FINISHED
A SET A PEARL NECKLACE WAS ALL THAT WAS LEFT
DID YOU GET IT? I AM SURE YOU WON'T FORGET IT
DID I STUTTER? YES, I AM TALKING ABOUT MY MOTHER
A SEXY ASS AND A CHEST FOR DAYS
STRIPPERS WORK IT IN SO MANY WAYS
HER NAME WAS PRECIOUS JEWEL
THE MOTHER I NEVER KNEW

CONCEIVED IN PRISON SCRIPTMENT
Concept:
A musician finds out he was adopted and sets out to meet his mother and find out the truth about his origins.
Facing the divide resulted from so many years of separation, mother and son reveal to each other the amazing stories of their youth in an attempt to reconcile their past and present and forge a path into the future.

Theme:
Conceived in Prison is a true story about identity and the courage to overcome the cages imposed upon us: The will power to confront the past and make dreams reality.

Story:

INTRO: SOMETHING MISSING

CLINT, a musician in his early thirties, is working on a new song. His talent is obvious but he is not satisfied with the lyrics. His friends clap but he just is not feeling complete today. He is supposed to be working on tracks for THE album, the new one that is going to break him into the mainstream charts but something is missing, he can't quite put his finger on it, except he is not certain he is going in the right direction.

THE CALL

Clint's manager PRESTON calls him over the phone to tell him about a mysterious call he received. Somebody claiming to be Clint's sister had been trying to reach him. Clint reminds Preston that he is an only child, and that it is probably a mistake or a hoax. But Preston insists Clint should call her because she knew about Clint's parents that only Clint himself can now collaborate.

LONG LOST SISTER

Clint, still skeptical, calls the number and talks to RHONDA who seems genuinely excited to talk to her brother. Rhonda tells Clint how she found out that she had been adopted at birth, and how she tracked down her mother only to find that she also had a younger brother from the same father. When Rhonda tells Clint who their mother had given the baby brother to, it clicks. The people who Clint had considered his biological parents had adopted him and that piece of information made everything start to make sense, as memories of his mistreatment at their hands begin to pour through his mind, like the tears down his cheeks. It's overwhelming but it is only the beginning.

A MOTHER'S HEART ATTACK

When Clint asks about contacting his real mother he finds out that she is in a hospital's Intensive Care Unit having just suffered a heart attack and undergone a surgery in which she lost 70 percent of her heart. A pacemaker is keeping her alive. The thought of losing his mother before having had a chance to meet her is unbearable and Clint makes plans to fly to see her.

HEAD IN THE CLOUDS

Clint stares out through the first class window of an airplane flying him from California to Texas. He's very anxious to meet the mother he never knew he had. Many questions arise and as he remembers his childhood, everything now appears in a different light. Clint begins to write.

THE MANSION THAT NEVER WAS A HOME

Clint remembers his life as a little boy, and his adoptive mother GRACY yelling at him and wrapping him in his own pee-soaked sheets. He also remembers carrying oversized garbage bags while his "sister" DEBBIE makes fun of him. Over and over he remembers being treated like an outsider who had to earn his stay through hard labor, and it all starts to make sense now. He's mostly kept outside, almost a servant to his sister who gets all the privileges.

TOUCHDOWN

Adult Clint's plane lands in texas and he rides in a town car through a metropolitan area.

PREAMBLE

Clint enters the hospital where he is greeted by RHONDA, who is genuinely excited to see him. She tells Clint that their mother has had two previous heart attacks but is now doing much better. She leads Clint to her room. He takes a deep breath before entering. This is it, he is about to meet his biological mother for the first time.

JEWEL

Clint's charismatic mother JEWEL lies on the hospital bed, smiling. She recognizes Clint from the pictures Rhonda printed from the web. She calls to him.
